eat to get slimmer
Nov. 8th, 2008 07:46 pmI just finished the fourth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I also worked on revising my story and went to the SW Center to work on this project involving creating a slideshow with a "meditation" on photos another student took of colorful houses in Tucson. I got the iMovie part to work just fine (and really, I suppose it's the Computer Stuff that my boss couldn't do herself, so I shouldn't feel like such a failure), but I'm a bit lost as to the text I'm supposed to create. However, I just got an enormous check from the SW Center (like, even enormouser than anticipated!) so I felt too guilty to just give up, so I futzed around with the transitions for a while. Also: having a key to go to the SW Center on the weekends is kind of awesome. I felt like an Important Person.
Good news! Okay, I don't think I actually wrote about this, but I killed my keyboard last week by um, possibly spilling a little soup on it. Luckily, nothing shorted out, and a USB keyboard works just fine. That's why I am here at the library to do typing-related things, though, because using a keyboard that's twice the size of one's laptop is just awkward. Also, that would explain why my IM conversations have mainly consisted of "sdghiiogh!!09!" Anyway! It turns out a new keyboard is only $20 on eBay, AND my parents kindly volunteered to install it! So my poor laptop will soon be ghetto no more.
To do: read one book, make 30 copies of my laaaaame handout, write one more guilt-trip email to the people who are supposed to be doing a presentation with me on Monday, write one paper, study for one test, critique three stories, finish my revision, finish my SW Center project, and possibly drop out of school and live in a box somewhere I like better than Tucson (so, pretty much anywhere up to and including Death Valley at this point).
