So I'm reading this book on the formation of new words, and I wanted to share my favorite discovery: "couch potato" started out as a pun on "tuber"!

Also, here's the new neologism I'm flogging: "shut your popehole." Considering recent papal pronunciations (condoms are not okay! Holocaust denial is!)...

I'm still waiting for "persnackety" to catch on. (Grumpy due to hunger/low blood sugar.) I find it a very useful term, myself. Perhaps it's just because I'm familiar with the word "persnickety," though.
